Johnny Eduardo Knocks Out Eddie Wineland At FN 40

Johnny Eduardo proved a point that the belongs in the UFC when he took on and knocked out his challenger Eddie Wineland at UFC Fight Night 40. The two kicked off the Fox Sports 2 prelim card and Eduardo knocked out Wineland in the first round.

Johnny Eduardo enters this fight with 6 knockouts, 13 submissions and 7 decision victories, however, he has never been knocked out, but submitted 7 times in his MMA career. Prior to making his UFC debut, he was on a 11 fight winning streak. He made his debut against Raphael Assuncao back in 2011 and lost via unanimous decision. He then fought and beat Jeff Curran via unanimous decision back in May of 2012.

Eddie Wineland has 11 knockouts, 5 submissions and 4 decision victories in his MMA career. He has been knocked out twice in his career, four times submitted and lost in three decision fights heading into this fight. He made his UFC debut back in 2011 against Urijah Faber which he lost via unanimous decision, the then lost to Joseph Benavidez via unanimous decision in the same year. In June of 2012, he got a win over Scott Jorgensen via 2nd Rd KO, he ended 2012 on a positive note with a win over Brad Pickett via split decision. He lost to Renan Barao via 2nd Rd TKO in September of 2013. His last fight was in January of this year and he beat Yves Jabouin via 2nd Rd TKO.
