Chris Cariaso Slides By Louis Smolka With Split Decision At UFC Fight Night 40

Chris Cariaso not only controlled the fight, but dominated the first two rounds. Both rounds, he tried to finish it late in the rounds with a sick guillotine choke that he almost got. Ultimately Louis Smolka tried to mount a comeback in the 3Rd Round, but ran out of time and Chris Cariaso got the  split decision victory.

He beat Iliarde Santos at UFC Fight Night – Maia vs. Shields on Oct / 09 / 2013 via 2nd Rd TKO and in his last fight he beat Danny Martinez at UFC 169 – Barao vs. Faber, 2 Feb / 01 / 2014 via Unanimous decision.

Smolka is coming into this fight with with 2 knockouts, 4 submissions and 1 decision victories while he is undefeated to make a perfect MMA record. Prior to the UFC he was 6-0 and finished all of his fights. In his UFC debut he beat Alptekin Ozkilic via Unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night – Rockhold vs. Philippou on Jan / 15 / 2014.
