Costa Philippou Puts Lorenz Larkin To Sleep At Fight Night 40

Costa Philippou has lost his last two fights, but came into this fight with  Lorenz Larkin with completely different feelings and put all the haters to rest. Not only was his intensity, he wanted a finish and gave a great one at that.  Philippou landed a left and then right hook to put Larkin to sleep wow. 

Costa Philippou is coming into this fight with a 12-4 record. He has six wins coming from KO, 1 submission win and 5 decision victories. He has been knocked out once in his career. He made his UFC debut against Nick Catone where he lost via unanimous decision back in March of 2011. Before 2013, he was on a five winning streak. In his last four fights he is 2-2. He beat Riki Fukuda via unanimous decision at UFC 148 in July of 2012 and then Tim Boetch via TKO in the third round back in December of that same year. However, he lost his last two fights coming into this fight. He lost to Francis Carmont via unanimous decision in September of 2013 and then against Luke Rockhold via KO in the first round earlier this year.

Lorenz Larkin is coming into this fight with a 14-2 record. He has 8 wins coming by KO, 6 by decision. He has never been knocked out or submitted. In his five fights he is 2-2-1. He lost too to King Mo via no contest in Jan of 2012 in Strikeforce. He beat Robbie Lawler in July of the same year via via unanimous decision. He made his UFC debut against Francis Carmont where he lost via unanimous decision in April of 2013 and then beat Chris Camozzi via unanimous decision back in November. His latest fight had come from Brad Tavares this past January where he lost that fight via unanimous decision.
