Urijah Faber – Alex Caceres Added To UFC 175

They wanted it, they got it, former WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber (30-7 MMA, 6-3 UFC) and Alex Caceres (10-5 MMA, 5-3 UFC)will meet a UFC 175.

ESPN’s Brett Okamoto broke the story first. Earlier in the day, Caceres and Faber went back and forth on twitter begging for this fight which was granted by Zuffa.

Urijah Faber has seven knockouts, 17 submissions and 5 decision victories, he has been knocked out three times in his MMA career. In his last four fights he is 3-1. He beat Scott Jorgensen via rear naked choke at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale on Apr / 13 / 2013. He beat Iuri Alcantara via Unanimous Decision at UFC Fight Night – Shogun vs. Sonnen on Aug / 17 / 2013. He then beat Michael McDonald via Guillotine Choke at UFC on Fox 9 – Johnson vs. Benavidez 2 on Dec / 14 / 2013. In his last fight he lost to Renan Barao via 1st Rd TKO at UFC 169 – Barao vs. Faber 2 on Feb / 01 / 2014.

Alex Caceres has 2 knockouts, 5 submissions and 3 decision victories while he has never been knocked out, but has been submitted four times in his MMA career. He made his UFC debut against Jim Hettes at UFC Live 5 – Hardy vs. Lytle on Aug / 14 / 2011 via Rear-Naked Choke. In his last four fights he is 3-0-1. He beat Motonobu Tezuka at UFC on Fuel TV 6 – Franklin vs. Le on Nov / 10 / 2012 via split decision. He failed a drug test against Kyung Ho Kang at UFC on Fuel TV 8 – Silva vs. Stann on Mar / 03 / 2013. He then picked up two wins over Roland Delorme via split decision at UFC 165 – Jones vs. Gustafsson on Sep / 21 / 2013 and then beat Sergio Pettis via Rear-Naked Choke at UFC on Fox 10 – Henderson vs. Thomson on Jan / 25 / 2014.

The headliner will be Chris Weidman vs. Lyoto Machida for the Middleweight title.

UFC 175 takes place July 5 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
