Alexander Volkov Vs. Vitaly Minakov Is Targeted For This Fall

Alexander Volkov (22-4 MMA, 6-1 BMMA) is set for a rematch with heavyweight champion Vitaly Minakov (14-0 MMA, 5-0 BMMA).

Right now we do not have a date or location of this fight. As of this writing, it falls under a rumored fight, with a major possibility.

Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney said post-event that the promotion has a timetable and would air later this fall on Spike, he also said “It’s going to be a spectacular fight of two unbelievable heavyweights,”

Volkov’s first meeting with Minakov only lasted less than three minutes when he was swarmed with punches and the fight ended in the first round at this past November’s Bellator 108.

Alexander Volkov is just coming off a win over Blagoi Ivano at this past Saturday’s night Bellator 120. Alexander Volkov stood his ground, making his way to the second round. Alexander Volkov landed shots, but was taken down by Blagoi Ivanov. Volkov got his back and locked in a rear naked choke submission at  1:08 of round two to win the fight.

Alexander Volkov (22-4) was coming into this fight with 16 knockouts, 2 submission and 4 decision victories while he was knocked out once, submitted twice in his MMA career. He made his Bellator debut at Bellator Fighting Championships 75 on Oct / 05 / 2012 which he won via unanimous decision. In his last four fights he is 3-1. He beat Rich Hale via unanimous decision at  Bellator Fighting Championships 84 on Dec / 14 / 2012. He lost to Vitaly Minakov via 1st RD TKO at Bellator 108 on Nov / 15 / 2013. He beat Mark Holata via 1st RD TKO at Bellator 111 on Mar / 07 / 2014. He then went on to beat Siala-Mou Siliga via 1st Rd KO at  Bellator 116 on Apr / 11 / 2014.
