Chael Sonnen On Why He Does Not Like Wanderlei Silva (Jealousy?)

Wanderlei Silva

During the UFC 175 tickets on sale press conference, Chael Sonnen was the main highlight of this conference. Check out some very interesting highlights:

How Doe It Make You Feel That The Brazilian Fans Are Behind You Now?

“I don’t like it, the Brazilian’s were my accomplices. I wanted to fight Wanderlei Silva and by the time that the media tour was done, they wanted the same thing. I think eventually they got to that conclusion, but what I really what you to understand is that on July 5th and 6th, the biggest fight week complete with Expo will be headlined by your’s truly and I would like to think Chris (Weidman) and Ronda (Rousey) for going on after the main event for the encore.”

When Did The Rivalry Start With You And Wanderlei Silva? “Man it started out in jealousy, I would sit at home, scratching and clawing to make it. I was fighting at the dog park, I’m fighting anywhere I can get a chance and then I am watching this knuckle head coming out of Japan wearing this belt.”

“I was thinking, I could have kicked this guys ass, he would have never been champion if I was in pride. I could never get my opportunity. They say you should always study your opponent, you should know what he is thinking and I know what he is thinking right now, he is thinking… Uh, is there a number higher than 11?”

Sonnen went on to say, “I’m going to give him a beating. The more he talks the more I think he is not going to show up. He grows confidence when he has numbers on his side.”

UFC 175 goes down on July 5, 2014 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
