Fabio Maldonado (21-6) is only 48 hours away from one of his toughest fighter to day in Stipe Miocic (11-1) This Saturday night at UFC TUF Brazil 3. He stepped in for Junior Dos Santos to fight Miocic and will make his Heavyweight debut this Saturday night.
“I want to test myself, said Maldonado. I’ve always fought as a heavyweight, and I’ve always wanted to fight Pat Barry and Roy Nelson and Mark Hunt. If I turn down a fight like that, how would I look at my kids? I’m a fighter.”
He has 12 knockouts, 3 submissions and 6 decision victories while he has been knocked out once, submitted twice and lost by decision three times.
“I need to go up there and take those challenges. That’s what being a fighter means.”

He beat Roger Hollett via unanimous decision at UFC on FX 8 – Belfort vs. Rockhold on May / 18 / 2013, Joey Beltran via split decision at UFC Fight Night – Maia vs. Shields on Oct / 09 / 2013 and in his last fight he beat Gian Villante via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night – Shogun vs. Henderson 2 on Mar / 23 / 2014.
