Longtime UFC Middleweight Mark Munoz has been removed from UFC rankings today. Also, he is no longer contract with the UFC.

He went into his last fight with Gegard Mousasi on his last leg of his contract with the UFC. He was hoping for a win and therefore leading to him being able to get more money from the UFC off a clean win, but that did not happen.

“For me, I wanted to get the most favorable contract I could get,” Munoz said. “I was holding out until my last fight and if I had beat Mousasi, which didn’t work out for me, it probably would have boosted my likelihood of getting that contract.

“I had all the confidence that I was going to beat Mousasi. It kind of backfired. I don’t know what the future holds for me and the UFC, but hopefully they accept me back.”

He said that he wants to only fight in the UFC.

“Obviously, the UFC is the organization to be in,” Munoz said. “It’s the top dog. I am the type of guy who wants to stay with the top organization.

“Having said that, I do have a wife and kids, you know? I want something that’s good for my family. I do want to stay in the UFC, though. There is no other organization I want to fight for.”

He made 42,000 in his last fight and would have got another 42,000 if he had won.

Mark Munoz (13-5) has 6 knockouts, 1 submission and 6 decision victories in his MMA career, he has been knocked out 3 times. He made his UFC debut way back in 2009 against Matt Hamill which he lost via KO at UFC 96 – Jackson vs. Jardine. Later in his career, he had a three fight win streak over Nick Catone, Ryan Jensen and Kendall Grove. In his last seven fights he is 5-2. In his last four fights he has a 2-2 record. Prior to his fight with Gegard Mousasi
