Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and current Bellator fighter Tito Ortiz (17-11-1 MMA, 1-0 BMMA) recently spoke with Submission Radio about his relationship with Dana White
“He’s like a chick, man. He’s like a chick who has a crush, and will never leave me alone, or he’s trying to get me back. I don’t know, I just keep my mouth shut about him, and I just let him rant and rave about me. At least he’s talking about me. I guess I can thank him for that.”
Ortiz has 8 knockouts, 5 submissions and 5 decision victories, but also has been knocked out four times, submitted twice in his MMA career. Ortiz is 2-6-1 in his last ten and 1-3 in his last five fights. His last win was over Ryan Bader via Guillotine choke at UFC 132 – Cruz vs. Faber 2 on Jul / 02 / 2011.
“I would love that to happen, but I mean , it’s a big factor with Dana is just (that) his ego is too big for itself, and I can see right through it. I mean, you can be fake to a person and say “oh yeah, I’m all cool with him, everything’s squashed” but I mean, at the end of the day they’re trying to hurt you, and that will happen. And I dunno, maybe it’s my trust issues I have. I don’t trust people very well and I have just known him for so long, I can just see through the fakeness. You can just see it through the fake smile. He’s a different person, he’s a different type of human being. It’s just, he holds grudges and that’s, that’s him man. That’s the way he is, and I dunno. I’m just living my life now happy, in a positive manner. You know, no negativity at all, and time heals all as you said.”
Ortiz is next fight is unknown, but Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney said: “We’ve got to sit down with Tito now, and I’ve got to figure out how to con him into a tournament, trying to take a run at a world title.”
