FOX broadcaster Jay Glazer spoke about Chris Weidman and him going into Weidman’s fight with Lyoto Machida at UFC 175.

“He has the potential to be the next star. He’s a good-looking guy, and he’s as down to earth as you’re ever going to get. The sport can change some people, and it hasn’t to him.”

Chris Weidman (11-0) Has five knockouts, three submissions and 3 decision victories. Prior to joining the UFC, he was on a four fight winning streak.

“Machida’s tough for everybody. He’s a matchup nightmare no matter who you are. I just want Chris – if he wins – I just want him to get the respect he finally deserves.”

He beat Anderson Silva via KO at UFC 162 – Silva vs. Weidman on Jul / 06 / 2013 to win the Middleweight title. He would then go on to retain the title in a back to back fight with Silva when he won the fight via TKO at UFC 168 – Weidman vs. Silva 2 on Dec / 28 / 2013.

“I think he is a star, but he’s not yet polished. He’s the future, and he’s legitimately one of the sweetest human beings you’ll ever meet in your life. His shtick is that he has no shtick.”
