Two UFC 176 Cancelled Fight’s Moved To UFC 177

With UFC 176 getting cancelled there are several fights that need new homes and the UFC has moved two fight’s to UFC 177 PPV card.

First, lightweight showdown between Danny Castillo and Tony Ferguson will be moved the event, as well as a middleweight clash between Derek Brunson and Lorenz Larkin.

Tony Ferguson (15-3 MMA, 5-1 UFC) He has eight knockouts, 4 submissions and 2 decision victories, while he has been submitted once in his MMA career. Prior to joining the UFC he was on a three fight winning streak. He made his UFC debut against Ramsey Nijem which he won via knockout at UFC – The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale on Jun / 04 / 2011. He beat Aaron Riley via TKO at UFC 135 – Jones vs. Rampage on Sep / 24 / 2011 and then Yves Edwards via unanimous decision at UFC – The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale on Dec / 03 / 2011. He lost to Michael Johnson via unanimous decision at UFC on Fox 3 – Diaz vs. Miller on May / 05 / 2012. In his last fight he beat Mike Rio via Brabo Choke at UFC 166 – Velasquez vs. dos Santos 3 on Oct / 19 / 2013.

Danny Castillo (17-6 MMA, 7-3 UFC) He is 3-2 in his last five fights and entering this fight with a loss on his record. He lost to Michael Johnson via knockout back in October of 2012, then got a pair of wins with a unanimous decision over Paul Sass back in February of 2013 and a unanimous decision over Tim Means back in July. However Edson Barboza stopped his winning streak back in December when he edges Castillo out with a Majority decision. He is coming off a win over Charlie Brenneman At UFC 172.

UFC 177 takes place Aug. 30 at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, Calif. Its headliner is a rematch from UFC 173 in May between new bantamweight champ T.J. Dillashaw against ex-champ Renan Barao. The event will air on Fight Pass, Fox Sports 1 and PPV.
