UFC Heavyweight Roy Nelson feels that since he beat the number one contender Fabricio Werdum back at UFC 143 and since Werdum is fighting the champion Cain Velasquez at UFC 180 for the Heavyweight title then he should get a title fight.

“With the UFC, it’s all about timing,” he said. “Werdum and Cain’s fight, that’s in November, (and) who knows if Cain is going to be injured again or Werdum’s going to win. If Werdum wins, I would love to do the rematch, and then I’ve got five rounds.”

Roy “Big Country” Nelson has 13 knockouts, 5 submissions and two wins by decision. He has been knocked out once in his MMA career. He made his UFC debut through the Ultimate Fighter and in his first fight in the promotion he knocked out Brendan Schaub in December of 2009 at The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale. He went on to beat Stefan Struve in March of 2010 by TKO. In his last five fights, he is 3-2.

Nelson beat Matt Mitrione via knockout at The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale on Dec / 15 / 2012 and then Cheick Kongo via knockout at UFC 159 – Jones vs. Sonnen on Apr / 27 / 2013. However, he went on a two fight losing streak. He lost to Stipe Miocic via unanimous decision at UFC 161 – Evans vs. Henderson on Jun / 15 / 2013 and then Daniel Cormier via unanimous decision at UFC 166 – Velasquez vs. Dos Santos 3 on Oct / 19 / 2013.

In his last fight, he beat Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira via knockout at UFC Fight Night – Minotauro vs. Nelson on Apr / 11 / 2014.
