UFC Champion Jose Aldo is in promotion mode as he is trying to build up his opponent in Chad Mendes. Down below is what he had to say about the rematch:
His thoughts on Mendes’ Opponents: “He hasn’t fought anyone ranked, and I’ve been fighting all the challengers,” he said. “But I’m going back to the gym, get my strategy ready and defeat him one more time.”
Aldo (24-1) is the UFC’s second-ranked pound-for-pound fighter. He has won his last 16 fights. He last fought at UFC 169 in February, beating Ricardo Lamas by unanimous decision for the featherweight title.
His thoughts on his rematch Mendes: “The only different thing now is the age. The rest remains the same. I’m more experienced now, so I know what to do. I don’t see any difference on him. He beat guys that weren’t well ranked, but he deserves (another title shot). He’s one of the best in this division, but I will go there and beat him.”
UFC 179 goes down Oct. 25 in Rio de Janeiro.
