Tim Boetsch has been given a tough assignment for his next fight, as the UFC has announced that he’ll face surging middleweight Thales Leites on January 31st. The bout will be part of UFC 183, which will go down in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card’s venue has yet to be announced.
Leites (24-4) has done nothing but impress since he returned to the Octagon in 2013. Since the 33 year-old fighter and former contender has comeback, he has scored wins over Tom Watson, Ed Herman, Trevor Smith and Francis Carmont. The last two victories have come via stoppage.
Boetsch (18-7) stopped Brad Tavares in highlight reel fashion last time out, which went took place at a Fight Night card in August. It was a much needed win for “The Barbarian”, who was coming off a loss to Luke Rockhold and had gone 1-3 before facing Tavares.
Leites has moved his way into the #11 spot in the UFC’s middleweight division, while Boetsch is currently sitting at #13.
So, that’s an interesting fight and a nice addition to UFC 183, which will feature Anderson Silva throwing down with Nick Diaz.
