If you muttered a “seriously?”, upon hearing Wanderlei Silva would attend a kick-off party for Bellator 131 this Friday, you may be interested to know that apparently, it’s a no go….
Yes, one day after Bellator announced that Silva was going to be at a Dave & Busters this Friday in San Diego, in advance of Bellator 131, the promotion has announced the UFC vet will not be in attendance.
On Tuesday, the promotion tweeted:
Due to prior contractual obligations, Wanderlei Silva will not be able to participate in #Bellator131's pre-promotion this week

Really, it’s not that surprising to hear the news, as although Silva has been blasting the UFC as of late, it wasn’t that long ago when he was contracted to fight Chael Sonnen at UFC 175.
Bellator 131 will be hosted by San Diego’s Valley View Casino Center on Saturday night, and will feature Tito Ortiz taking on Stephan Bonnar in the main event.
