UFC Vet Leonard Garcia Retires From MMA After Latest Defeat

One of the sport’s most aggressive and entertaining fighters has announced his MMA career is over, as UFC vet Leonard Garcia is calling it quits, following a loss at Legacy FC 37 on Friday.

Garcia was tapped out by Daniel Pineda with a nasty looking kimura in the opening round, and afterwards, the 35 year-old made the announcement. You can watch the highlights from the event below.

Apparently, “Bad Boy” said he might compete for Legacy FC’s kickboxing promotion sometime in 2015.

The featherweight was coming off a submission loss to Damon Jackson heading into the bout, which had snapped Garcia’s three fight win streak.

The Jackson’s MMA fighter became a fan favourite during his WEC and UFC days, as Garcia was involved in several, memorable wars.

Following the loss on Friday, Garcia’s MMA record stands at 18-13-1.
