UFC on FOX 14 has picked up another high profile, light-heavyweight fight, as the promotion has announced that Phil Davis will face Ryan Bader at the event.
That card will go down on January 24th in Stockholm, Sweden, and will also feature #1 contender Alexander Gustafsson taking on the #3 ranked, 205’er, Anthony Johnson (which should be pretty sweet).
Bader (18-4) worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Ovince St.Preux in his last outing, and the former TUF winner has won three in a row. The only man to defeat Bader in his last 5 fights is Glover Teixeira.
Davis (13-2) is not long removed from a UD victory over Teixeira, which returned the decorated wrestler to the win column, after he was decisioned by Anthony Johnson. Like Bader, Davis is also 4-1 in his last 5 scraps.
Bader is currently ranked #7 in the UFC’s light-heavyweight division, and Davis is sitting at #5, so clearly there’s big rankings implications riding on this bout.
UFC on FOX 14 will be hosted by Stockholm’s Tele2 Arena.
Some of the other bouts that have been confirmed include Dan Henderson vs. Gegard Mousasi, Nico Musoke vs. Albert Tumenov, and Sultan Aliev vs. Kenny Robertson.
