UFC Fight Night 59 was Conor McGregor’s big stage, and not only did the rising featherweight score another stoppage win in the main event, he took home a bonus.
McGregor picked up a “Performance of the Night” award for his second round, stoppage win over Dennis Siver, which came with a check for $50,000. McGregor dropped Siver in round two, and then finished the bout with a series of elbows from mount.
With the win, McGregor ensured he will challenge featherweight champion Jose Aldo next.
Lorenz Larkin also earned a “POTN” and $50K, for taking out John Howard in the opening round.
“Fight of the Night”, and $50,000 each, went to light-heavyweights Sean O’Connell and Matt Van Buren. O’Connell took the bout by scoring a third round, TKO.
UFC FN 59 was hosted by Boston’s TD Garden.
