UFC FN 59: Conor McGregor Blasts Ricardo Lamas For “Ridiculous” Video

Chances are you probably saw Ricardo Lamas’s recent spoof of Conor McGregor, and it certainly looks like the video hit a wee bit of a nerve with “Notorious”.

Now if you missed it, recently Lamas appeared in a video segment titled “The Delirious Conrad McGillicutty”, in which the featherweight contender roasted the Irish fighter pretty hard. Lamas has said for some time that he’d love to fight McGregor, and the American also believes he could defeat the rising fighter “easily.”

Well, following McGregor’s stoppage win over Dennis Siver at UFC FN 59 last night, here is some of what “Notorious” had to say about Lamas and his vid (quotes via MMA

“I swear, I can’t even get over that video,” McGregor said. “It was the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I looked down into the crowd. I seen 40 chins, and then I climbed up those 40 chins and it was Ricardo Lamas. So I gave him the finger, as well.

“I saw him in the hotel with a big box of pizza, and I’m talking a 22-inch pizza, and on top of the 22-inch pizza was a big can of Pepsi or Coke – who are we signed by, Coke or Pepsi? If we’re not signed by them, cola. You know what I’m saying. He’s a big fat mess, making stupid videos. Get in the gym and perform impressively and climb up that ladder. You fought like a p-ssy when you fought Jose. So he’s a p-ssy.”

How about that? Surprised? You shouldn’t be. Now of course, these two likely won’t fight any time too soon. McGregor has locked up a fight with champion Jose Aldo, and Dana White has said the bout will likely take place in May.

Last night, the UFC also announced that Lamas will fight fellow contender, Chad Mendes on April 4th. Lamas is currently ranked #3 in the UFC’s 145 division and Mendes is #1. One would think, however, that at some point, McGregor and Lamas will throw down.

Lamas fought Aldo in February, 2014, and lost via unanimous decision. Since then, however, “The Bully” has scored wins over Hacran Dias and most recently Dennis Bermudez, who he tapped out in the first round.
