UFC FN 60: Benson Henderson Scores Big Win at 170

Benson Henderson

Benson Henderson’s decision to accept a fight with rising welterweight Brandon Thatch paid off tonight at UFC Fight Night 60, as the former lightweight champ scored a fourth round, submission win in the main event.

Henderson stood and traded with Thatch throughout the fight’s opening rounds, but as the fight wore on, the latter appeared to be pushing ahead on the score cards. Henderson┬ástarted looking for the takedown more often, and in round four, he took Thatch to the mat and quickly took his back. Not long after, “Smooth” forced Thatch to submit to a rear-naked-choke, which ended his 10 fight winning streak.

After the massive performance, Henderson said he’d be willing to fight top ranked welterweight Rory MacDonald next, if need be.

UFC FN 60 was hosted by the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. Here are the official results.
