Frankie Edgar will look to take another big step towards securing a title shot this weekend at UFC Fight Night 66, when he battles Urijah Faber in Manila.
Of course, Edgar challenged reigning featherweight king Jose Aldo in 2013 and lost by decision, but “The Answer” hasn’t gone anywhere thanks to three straight wins. Edgar is currently ranked #2 in the UFC’s 145 division.
The biggest and most impressive of those victories took place last November, when Edgar tapped out Cub Swanson with a late, late, late neck crank. While the end of the fight didn’t happen until 4:56 of Round 5, Edgar dropped jaws throughout the MMA world by dominating Swanson up until that point. Heading into the bout, the latter had won six straight and had scored finishes in four of them.
