Much of the spotlight for UFC 190 is burning brightly on the headliner between Ronda Rousey and Bethe Correia, but the card also will feature “Shogun” Rua vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira II.
Sure, some will rightly point out that neither light-heavyweight is in the title shot mix, but when you consider their legacies, this is a big, big fight. Especially since their first scrap back in 2005, was one of the best in PRIDE’s history. Rua won the bout via UD.
The August 1st bout will mark the first time Nogueira has fought since last July, when he was quickly KO’d by Anthony Johnson. Prior to the loss, Nogueira had impressed by decisioning Rashad Evans, and by storming through Tito Ortiz.
