UFC 190 Embedded Ep: 2 – The “Skyscraper” Hits Rio de Janeiro

Stefan Struve

Much of the buzz for UFC is tied to Ronda Rousey-Bethe Correia and “Shogun” Rua-Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, and for good reason, but it also features a compelling bout at heavyweight.

Yes, that fight included “Lil Nog’s” brother, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, who will battle Stefan Struve. Of course, any bout involving “Minotauro” captures the imagination of old school fans, due to his storied career, but this is a big fight for Struve.

After being sidelined for over a year, due to a rare heart condition, Struve returned to the cage in December and was stopped by Alistair Overeem. If the massive, 7’0 tall fighter wants to re-establish himself as a heavyweight contender, he’ll need to defeat Nogueira Saturday night.

It wasn’t that long ago really, when Struve had won four in a row, and had taken out Stipe Miocic. Since then, the latter has worked his way to the top of the heavyweight division, and is knocking on the door for a title shot. After defeating Miocic, Struve was stopped by Mark Hunt in early 2013, before finding out about his aforementioned heart issue.

In the latest episode of UFC 190’s “Embedded“, cameras follow Struve as he arrives in Rio de Janeiro, and as he hits the famous city’s beaches.

It also documents Rousey making some pretty, pretty interesting comments about her body…

Correia, Rua and “Big Nog” also make appearances. You can check out the episode below.

UFC 190 will be hosted by the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
