Veteran Jens Pulver will look to snap a four-fight losing streak when he returns to action at WEC 47 on March 6 in Columbus, Ohio, and he’s likely to meet fellow featherweight Javier Vazquez at the Versus-televised event, according to MMAjunkie.
Following back-to-back losses in the UFC, Pulver (21-12-1), the first UFC lightweight champion, transitioned to the WEC with a swift win over Cub Swanson, but has since dropped four-straight to Urijah Faber (twice), Leonard Garcia, and, most-recently in June, Josh Grispi.
Vazquez (13-4) ended his 20-month retirement with a 19-second submission victory in June, then made his WEC debut in August, but had his four-fight win streak snapped in a split decision loss to LC Davis. “Showtime” dropped another split decision to Deividas Taurosevicius in his most-recent fight in October.
“WEC 47: Bowles vs. Cruz” is headlined by bantamweight champ Brian Bowles vs. Dominick Cruz, and also features Miguel Torres vs. Joseph Benavidez.
