Frankie Edgar Says He’s “Done Getting Screwed Over”, Vows to Take Out “One Dimensional” Conor McGregor

Frankie Edgar

Frankie Edgar hasn’t been scheduled to fight Conor McGregor yet, which could be why he recently sent an array of verbal shots the new champ’s way on Twitter.

Since Edgar quickly stopped Chad Mendes at the TUF 22 Finale earlier this month, and extended his wining streak to 5, “The Answer” has been told he’s fighting for the 145 title next. The problem is, if you’re Edgar or one of his fans, it’s not clear when that will happen.

McGregor has said he’s interested in fighting Edgar, but he’s always talked about moving to 155 in length as well. Following McGregor’s title cinching KO win over Jose Aldo at UFC 194, the word was that he’d only move to 155 next, if Donald Cerrone won the title. Rafael dos Anjos, however, quickly retained his title at UFC on FOX 17.

Well, now there’s talk about McGregor possibly fighting Nate Diaz (which yes, has been started by the latter), and the UFC has yet to say, yes, okay, McGregor – Edgar is next. Thus, this could be why Edgar made the following tweets recently, while talking to fans.

So there you have it. Mr. Edgar doing some fine campaigning for a fight with McGregor. Will it work? It certainly seems like the UFC and McGregor are considering various options. Could McGregor be headed to 155 for a quick, turn around fight with Diaz?
