Ronda Rousey may not be the UFC’s bantamweight champ as 2015 comes to a close, but that doesn’t change the fact she made the promotion a ton of cash the preceding 12 months…
On November 14th, Rousey took on Holly Holm at UFC 193 in Melbourne, in what was expected to be a huge event. The card, which was held by Etihad Stadium, drew well over 50,000 fans.
While the attendance alone was huge, according to a recent report from MMA Fighting.com, sources are estimating that the card pulled over 1 million pay-per-views. The event might have sold up to 1.1 million PPVs. When you consider 500,000 PPV sales is considered pretty decent, these figures are massive.
UFC 190 and Rousey’s bout with Bethe Correia in August, is estimated to have sold between 800,000 and 900,000 PPV buys.
Rousey was KO’d by Holm in the second round at UFC 194, The two are expected to rematch at UFC 200 in July.
