Lightweights Danny Castillo and Anthony Pettis will look to bounce back from recent losses when they meet on the preliminary card of “WEC 47: Bowles vs. Cruz” on March 6 in Columbus, Ohio. World Exteme Cagefighting officially announced the bout on Monday.
Castillo (8-2) won three-straight WEC matchups over Rafael Dias, Phil Cardella, and Ricardo Lamas to improve to 8-1, before suffering a third-round submission to Shane Roller in November in his most-recent fight.
Pettis (7-1) remained unbeaten with a first-round submission of Mike Campbell in his WEC debut last June, but dropped a split decision to Bart Palaszewski in November in his last fight.
WEC 47, which airs live on Versus from the Nationwide Arena, is headlined by bantamweight champ Brian Bowles vs. challenger Dominick Cruz and also features Joseph Benavidez vs. Miguel Torres, Jens Pulver vs. Javier Vazquez, and Deividas Taurosevicius vs. LC Davis.
