Alistair Overeem’s pursuit of the UFC’s heavyweight title will continue, as the contender is reporting that he’s signed a new contract with the promotion.
The 35 year-old, who took out Junior dos Santos at UFC on FOX 17 in December, elected to test the free agent waters. There was speculation as to whether Bellator would make a big move for the Dutch star, but clearly Overeem has elected to stay with the UFC. The former Strikeforce, DREAM and K-1 champ recently announced the news via Twitter.

So, there you have it. Overeem is currently riding a three fight winning streak and has moved into the #3 spot at heavyweight. It will be interesting to see who the UFC books “The Reem” to fight next.
