Welterweight prospect Charlie Brenneman, who recently-signed a four-fight deal with the UFC, will make his UFC debut against fellow newcomer and DREAM veteran Jason High on March 31 at UFC Fight Night 21 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
High today announced the matchup on Twitter.
Brenneman (11-1), the winner of the first season of Spike’s “Pros vs. Joes,” has lost just one professional bout, dropping a unanimous decision to current UFC 170-pounder John Howard in September 2008, but has improved to 11-1 with six-straight victories.
High (9-2) joins the UFC after losing to Marius Zaromskis last July in the finals of DREAM’s welterweight tourney. “The Kansas City Bandit’s” only other loss came to Strikeforce welterweight contender Jay Hieron in Affliction last January, while he holds notable wins over UFC veteran Kevin Burns and Andre Galvao.
UFC Fight Night 21, which airs live on Spike as the lead-in for The Ultimate Fighter 11 debut, is headlined by a bout between lightweight contenders Kenny Florian and Takanori Gomi, and also features The Ultimate Fighter 10 winner Roy Nelson vs. Stefan Struve.
