If Daniel Cormier was hoping to get under Jon Jones‘ skin by inviting Ovince Saint Preux to come train with him at AKA, well, it looks like a ‘checkmate’ is in order?

If you missed it, yesterday Cormier appeared on “The MMA Hour” to discuss his recent withdrawal from UFC 197, when he was scheduled to rematch his best bud, Jones. Cormier has pulled out due to leg injury, and OSP has agreed to fight Jones on April 23rd.

During the interview, Cormier relayed that if OSP wants to come train with AKA, he’s more than welcome, all expenses paid. Saint Preux proceeded to thank Cormier for the offer, but the light-heavyweight’s going to stick with his teammates and coaches.

Well, Jones was also a guest on the show, and he didn’t waste any time firing away at Cormier for the invite. The former champ also took to Twitter to let his thoughts be known, and “DC” clearly didn’t care for his rivals comments.

So yeah, it’s really too bad the rematch has been postponed…Jones – OSP will be interesting nonetheless. UFC 197 will do gown at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
