Middleweight Gerald Harris will fight undefeated UFC newcomer Mario Miranda on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night 21 on March 31 in Charlotte, North Carolina, according to MMAjunkie.
Harris (14-2) appeared as a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter 7, but after losing to eventual winner Amir Sadollah was released before making his UFC debut. However, after pushing his win streak to seven-straight with a knockout of UFC veteran Nissen Osterneck, Harris was re-signed and debuted last month at UFC Fight Night 20, picking up “Knockout of the Night” honors for his third-round TKO of John Salter.
Miranda (11-0) has gone to decision just twice while earning 5 knockout and 4 submission victories. He holds notable wins over current UFC welterweight Rick Story and former UFC fighter Joe Vedepo, and scored a first-round submission in his most-recent fight in August.
UFC Fight Night 21, which airs on Spike as the lead-in for The Ultimate Fighter 11 debut, is headlined by lightweight contenders Kenny Florian and Takanori Gomi, and also includes The Ultimate Fighter 10 winner Roy Nelson vs. Stefan Struve.
