Report: Conor McGregor Only Wants Fight With Eddie Alvarez, Latter Hasn’t Signed Bout With Khabib Nurmagomedov

Conor McGregor

While we don’t know yet what’s next for Conor McGregor, it certainly looks like there’s a lot going down behind the scenes…

Since McGregor decisioned Nate Diaz in August, the UFC’s featherweight champ has said he’s not interested in rematching Jose Aldo next, and that a third bout with Diaz should wait. As a result, the rumor mill regarding a bout between McGregor and lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez has been running non-stop. Many expected that the fight would be booked for UFC 205 on November 12th.

But, recently UFC boss man Dana White tweeted out that the promotion is planning Alvarez vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov for UFC 205. Not Alvarez – McGregor. Now this is where things get interesting.

According to a follow up report from MMA, McGregor is only interested right now in fighting Alvarez. Further, the site’s Ariel Helwani says that UFC Tonight reported McGregor is currently nursing a leg injury. But, sources have informed him that McGregor is fine.

In a report from MMA, it was relayed that UFC Tonight’s Megan Olivi is reporting that Alvarez did not sign his bout agreement in time, for a November 12th bout with Nurmagomedov. So, the promotion is now looking to have that fight headline UFC 206, which will go down on December 10th in Toronto, Ontario.

So, after seeing all this, one could certainly conclude that not everyone is on the same page right? In terms of what fight should come next. Alvarez has repeatedly said he wants to fight McGregor, but White has reported that the latter will be stripped of the 145 title, if he doesn’t fight Jose Aldo next…
