UFC 111 Draws Sell Out Crowd of 17,000 for $4 Million Live Gate

UFC 111 drew a sell out crowd of 17,000 fans to the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday, earning a $4 million live gate, UFC President Dana White announced at the event’s post-fight press conference.

“UFC 111: St-Pierre vs. Hardy” was headlined by welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre’s successful title defense over Dan Hardy and also featured heavyweight contender Shane Carwin scoring a first-round knockout of Frank Mir to claim an interim title and earn the next shot at heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar.

The UFC 111 main card, which also included wins by Kurt Pellegrino, Jon Fitch, and Jim Miller, aired live on pay-per-view, while several preliminary bouts were broadcast on Spike TV.
