After Mickey Gall defeated CM Punk last month, he made it clear he wants to fight Sage Northcutt next, and the welterweight’s got his wish.
Gall quickly submitted Punk at UFC 203 in September to record his second UFC win, and move his pro record to 3-0. After the bout, Gall said he thinks Northcutt is “corny” and that he wanted to scrap “Super”.
Well, Northcutt relayed shortly after that he was up for the fight, and today the UFC announced the two will faceoff at UFC on FOX 22, December 17th. The event will take place in Sacramento.
Northcutt (8-1), meanwhile, has gone 3-1 to date in the Octagon.
So, that’s an intriguing fight between two rising prospects. No other bouts for UFC on FOX 22 have been announced yet.
