“Strikeforce: Nashville” Prelims Announced, Bobby Lashley Won’t Fight on April 17

Bobby LashleyStrikeforce today announced the preliminary card for it’s April 17 “Nashville” event, but undefeated heavyweight Bobby Lashley will not fight at the CBS-televised event as previously expected, saying late-Sunday that he’ll instead return to action “when the time is right.”

The “Nashville” prelims are loaded with local fighters, including former University of Tennessee linebacker Ovince St. Preux (4-4), who takes on fellow light heavyweight Chris Hawk (3-3) of Memphis, while Nashville natives will meet in four undercard bouts: Justin Pennington vs. Dustin Ortiz (125), Hunter Worsham vs. Zach Underwood (185), Thomas Campbell vs. Cody Floyd (145), and Andy Uhrich vs. Dustin West (170).

Also on the undercard, Nashville’s Josh Shockman will face The Ultimate Fighter 7’s Cale Yarbrough in a light heavyweight contest.

“Strikeforce: Nashville” is headlined by middleweight champ Jake Shields vs. UFC veteran Dan Henderson, and also features light heavyweight title-holder Gegard Mousasi vs. Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal and lightweight champ Gilbert Melendez vs. Shinya Aoki.
