Recently Ronda Rousey reported that her UFC 207 bout with Amanda Nunes is going to be one of her last fights, and Colin Cowherd believes she’s going to get destroyed as a result…
Rousey recently appeared on “The Ellen Show”, and while doing so, the former bantamweight champ said that her fighting career is “wrapping” up. The December 30th bout with the new champion will mark the first time Rousey has fought, since she was brutally KO’d by Holly Holm last November.
Well, during a recent episode of “The Herd”, Cowherd had this to say about the upcoming fight (quote via MMA Mania.com):
“You can’t be halfway in on UFC,” Cowherd said, after relaying that he thinks “Rowdy” will get “destroyed” if she’s thinking about her life, after MMA. “It’s not like basketball where a guy can push off. If Ronda Rousey’s mindset is ‘this is one of my last fights,’ she’s retired. She’s one foot out the door. You can’t be in halfway on UFC. UFC stands for Ultimate Fighting Championship, not ‘you fight conveniently.’ You gotta be all in.”
Now, a lot of folks likely don’t see it this way, particularly Rousey fans. The star has said throughout her career that she doesn’t intend to have a lengthy MMA career. But, there are certainly a lot of questions surrounding Rousey heading into the fight. Has she recovered mentally from the vicious defeat? How will she react if Nunes tags her with a big shot? Is she truly focused on fighting? Considering all the opportunities she has these days outside of the cage?
UFC 207 will be hosted by the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
