Lightweight UFC veteran Roger Huerta successfully made his Bellator debut at Thursday’s Bellator 13 in Hollywood, Florida, submitting Chad Hinton with a third-round kneebar to advance to the semifinals of the promotion’s season two 155-pound tournament.
After a solid opening round, Huerta (21-3-1) dominated the second, ending the frame in mount, before quickly securing the fight-ending kneebar and forcing Hinton (6-1) to tap 56-seconds into the third.
In other main card action, Carey Vanier also advanced to the lightweight semis with a third-round TKO of late-replacement Joe Duarte, Georgi Karakhanyan moved on to the 145-pound semifinals with a first-round knockout of Bao Quach, and fellow featherweight Joe Warren claimed a unanimous decision over Eric Marriott to advance to the second round.
