With the preliminary card now complete in Las Vegas, it’s time to move to the main card for UFC 207, which will feature Ronda Rousey taking on Amanda Nunes.
Louis Smolka vs. Ray Borg
The action spilled to the mat not long in, and from there, Borg controlled the action with submission attempts and strikes from above. In round two, Borg’s grappling and scrambling ability won out once again, and he also landed a thumping punch from above. In between rounds, however, Borg told his corner that he thinks he may have broken his ankle. Borg dominated round three once again with his grappling, and cruised to the UD win.

Dong Hyun Kim vs. Tarec Saffiedine
Kim pressured forward throughout much of the opening round, but Saffiedine scored a couple of nice trips and landed some counters. Round two saw more of the same, but neither man landed any takedowns. The welterweights came out firing hard punches to begin the final round, but then Kim reverted to moving forward and looking for the clinch. Saffiedine landed more significant strikes, but Kim was moving forward throughout much of the bout. Close fight.

T.J. Dillashaw vs. John Lineker
Dillashaw came out with a steady stream of kicks, and proceeded to score a takedown. Lineker eventually got to his feet, and chucked some big punches before the opening round ended. Dillashaw took Lineker to the mat once again in round two, but this time he was able to keep top position for longer and land more strikes from above. As the round neared it’s end, Dillashaw pounded away with some big elbows and punches. Dillashaw took the bout down once again, and controlled much of the final round, but Lineker did land some hard body punches before the fight ended. Dominant win for Dillashaw.

Dominick Cruz vs. Cody Garbrandt
Garbrandt looked to counter strike in the opening frame, and when Cruz missed with punches, the bantamweight contender taunted the champ. Both men managed to score takedowns in the first round, however, neither was able to keep the fight down. Round two saw more of the same, but Cruz was a bit busier with kicks. Early into the third round Garbrandt landed a hard right that cut Cruz above the left eye. Now Joe Rogan is saying a headbutt was behind the cut. Garbrandt kicks into the taunting. Cruz momentarily went down during an exchange, but late in the round, he landed a nice shot of his own. Early into round four, Garbrandt sent Cruz crashing to the mat with a huge right, but the champ quickly got back to his feet. Then, later in the frame, Garbrandt sent Cruz down with a hard left hook. Cruz was the aggressor once again in round five, but in this frame. Garbrandt was largely unable to land any counter strikes. We have a new champ.

Amanda Nunes vs. Ronda Rousey
Nunes cracked Rousey right away with hard jabs and cracking right hands. Nunes continued to pour on shots and Rousey appeared out on her feet. After Nunes pounded Rousey with several more shots, referee Herb Dean stopped the bout. What a win for Nunes.
