Former WEC featherweight champ Urijah Faber said in a recent appearance on The MMA Hour that he’s facing a dangerous fighter in current 145-pound champ Jose Aldo, but feels he’s more well-rounded and has the experience to reclaim the title in the main event of Saturday’s “WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber,” World Extreme Cagefighting’s pay-per-view debut in his hometown of Sacramento, California.
“I feel like I’m the better fighter,” Faber said. “And I really feel like I’m the more well-rounded fighter with the wrestling, the jiu-jitsu, the standup as a whole, being the guy that’s been in longer fights, being the guy that’s better in the inbetweens of fighting … I’m facing a dangerous guy, but I think I’m the better fighter.
“It’s going to come down to, who’s going to have the heart, the mentality, the tenacity to win the fight. And I think I’m the guy.”
