UFC 208: Germaine de Randamie Becomes First Women’s 145 Champ

UFC 208

UFC 208 is over, and in the main event, Germaine de Randamie earned a decision win over Holly Holm to become the inaugural, women’s featherweight champion.

Holm alternated between her kicking game and takedown attempts throughout the bout, but de Randamie countered well with big rights. The bout saw de Randamie fire shots after the horn in two different rounds, but no points were deducted. After the 25 minutes were up, de Randamie was awarded the unanimous decision win.

In the co-main event, Anderson Silva earned a UD win over Derek Brunson, in what was a very competitive fight. Silva was taken down a few times in the bout, but he was also the aggressor for much of it, and appeared to land more telling shots.
