UFC 116: Chris Lytle vs. Matt Brown Likely for July 3 in Las Vegas

Chris LytleA rematch between welterweights Chris Lytle and Matt Brown is expected to take place at “UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin” on July 3 in Las Vegas, according to MMAFighting.

Lytle (38-17-5) won “Submission of the Night” at February’s UFC 110 for his first-round kneebar of Brian Foster, and has now won 3 of his last 4 after earning “Fight of the Night” honors in wins over Paul Taylor and Kevin Burns as well as a loss to Marcus Davis. In 2007, “Lights Out” scored a second-round submission win over Brown in their first meeting outside the UFC.

A cast member on The Ultimate Fighter 7, Brown (11-8) won three-straight over Ryan Thomas, Pete Sell, and James Wilks, but suffered a second-round submission to Ricardo Almeida at UFC 111 last month.

UFC 116 is headlined by the anticipated return of heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar vs. interim title-holder Shane Carwin, and is expected to be co-headlined by Wanderlei Silva vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama.
