Renowned Boxing Coach Says it Would be an “Honor” to Help Conor McGregor Train For Floyd Mayweather

A boxing match between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor hasn’t been signed yet, but one of the sport’s top trainers would be more than willing to help the latter get ready for it.

That coach is Freddie Roach, who has trained some of the best pugilists on the planet. Roach appeared on “The MMA Hour” on Monday, and he reported Mayweather told him a couple of months ago, that his next opponent would be McGregor.

When asked if McGregor has approached Roach about training him, the boxing coach said no, but he also said this (quote via MMA Fighting):

“I would like to try to help him to get ready,” Roach said. “That would be an honor for me, yes. Right now, Georges (St-Pierre) is my main concern. Georges has first priority at this point.”

First things first, however, and that’s getting Mayweather – McGregor finalized.
