Tony Ferguson Says Conor McGregor Would “Get Eaten up on His Feet” in Boxing Bout With “El Cucuy”

It certainly looks like Conor McGregor wants his next fight to be in the boxing ring, rather than the Octagon, but Tony Ferguson is willing to meet him in both.

In recent weeks, all the talk about McGregor facing boxing star Floyd Mayweather has reached new heights, so much so, even Dana White believes the bout will take place. In the meantime, it remains to be seen what’s next for the lightweight contender Ferguson, who was supposed to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov for the interim belt earlier this month (until the latter withdrew due to weight cutting issues).

Well, as a result of all the Mayweather talk, Ferguson has argued that McGregor doesn’t really want to face him in the cage. Recently “El Cucuy” appeared on “The MMA Hour”, and he repeated that sentiment (quote via MMA Fighting):

“No, I mean if he’s all about business and being a punk he needs to vacate that belt but, I don’t know,” Ferguson said. “If you want to box, let’s go. I’ll box you.

“That dude would get eaten up on his feet.”

How about that? How would a boxing match between Ferguson and McGregor go down? It would be interesting to hear the latter’s thoughts, considering recently McGregor proclaimed he’s going to “shock” the world, when (if) he boxes Mayweather.
