Dana White Reminds Folks There’s “no Guarantees” That Floyd Mayweather Will Beat Conor McGregor

Dana White has spent a fair bit of time in the boxing ring and is a huge fan of the sport, but you won’t hear the UFC President rule out Conor McGregor’s chances against Floyd Mayweather.

Since talk about a possible boxing match between McGregor and Mayweather has reached new heights in recent weeks, White has been fielding questions about the all-star bout everywhere he goes. Case in point, recently on “Conan”, White said he thinks McGregor – Mayweather will go down, since there’s just so much money to be made.

White has also been asked about how McGregor might fair against Mayweather, who is one of the greatest boxers to ever step into the ring. White has repeatedly noted that McGregor hits hard, and that he’ll have the size advantage over Mayweather. Then, when X17 Online caught up with him, in an airport of all places, White offered this take on the proposed bout (quote via MMA Junkie):

“Great thing about fights is you never know who’s going to win,” White said. “Believe me, there are a lot of weekends we put on fights, and I think people aren’t going to win, and they do. It’s the crazy thing about the fight business.

I mean, if it was guaranteed that Floyd was going to win this fight, why would you pay for it? There are no guarantees.”

It is true that in combat sports in particular, you never know what’s going to happen. But, it would be interesting to see what White would say, if he was asked to assign a percentage to McGregor’s chances against Mayweather. If McGregor wins, it will turn the boxing world upside down.
