“King Mo” Lawal has been tapped to welcome Ryan Bader to the Bellator cage, and the fighter’s hoping to move from that fight into not one, but two, title runs.

Lawal took on “Rampage” Jackson for a second time last night at Bellator 175, and he avenged his controversial, defeat to the star. Just as Lawal said he would, he called on his wresting pedigree extensively in the bout, and won a unanimous decision.

As soon as the decision was announced, Bellator announced that Lawal is going to face Bader at the promotion’s June 24th card in New York City. At the post-fight presser, the 36 year-old Lawal relayed the following, while discussing his goals (quote via MMA Junkie):

“I’m cool with (fighting Bader),” Lawal said. “But at the same time, I wouldn’t mind fighting the winner of Mitrione and Fedor. I just want to bounce – I want both titles. I want two title shots. I want to fight for the 205 belt and heavyweight belt.

“… I just want to fight everybody. The more you keep on winning, the more title shots you’ll get, or you’ll have chances to get title shots. I’m just trying to fight and win at any weight class.”

How about that? There’s no denying that Lawal is one of the more game fighters in all of MMA. He wouldn’t give up that much size against Fedor Emelianenko, but Matt Mitrione is 6’3 and over 250 pounds. Although, “Rampage” came in at 253 for their fight last night.

It will be interesting to see if Lawal can get by Bader, however, who is a better wrestler than Jackson. If he can, then you never know, Bellator might be willing to grant him his wish, and we could see him fight Fedor or Mitrione. If he were to win both those fights, then ya, Lawal would be in the mix of two title shot pictures.
