Joe Lauzon vs. Terry Etim Likely for UFC 118 on August 28 in Boston

Joe LauzonMassachusetts native Joe Lauzon is set to return to action against fellow lightweight Terry Etim at UFC 118, the UFC’s Boston debut on August 28 at TD Garden, Fighters Only reports.

Lauzon (18-5), a castmember on The Ultimate Fighter 5, had his three-fight UFC win streak snapped with a “Fight of the Night” loss to Kenny Florian in April 2008, but rebounded with back-to-back wins over Kyle Bradley and Jeremy Stephens. He returned in January following a near year-long layoff due to knee surgery, but dropped a unanimous decision to Sam Stout in the “Fight of the Night” at UFC 108.

Following back-to-back losses, Etim (14-3) defeated Sam Stout and Brian Cobb then earned “Submission of the Night” honors for wins over Justin Buchholz and Shannon Gugerty in 2009, but was submitted in the second-round by Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 112 last month.

UFC 118 is headlined by lightweight champ Frankie Edgar’s first title defense vs. former title-holder BJ Penn, while the card also features a matchup between lightweight contenders Kenny Florian and Gray Maynard as well as Randy Couture vs. James Toney.
