Not long after a press release was sent out announcing that TUF 26 will determine the UFC’s first ever, women’s flyweight champ, to then have UFC brass say the announcement was premature, now the company has confirmed all of this…
TUF 26 will indeed feature women 125 pound fighters and the show will determine the promotion’s inaugural, flyweight champ. Tryouts are being held on May 23rd in Las Vegas, and are open to fighters aged 21-34, with a minimum of three pro bouts and who have a winning record.
The show will begin filming in July and will air on a date to be announced, later this year.
So, there you have it. The UFC now has strawweight, flyweight, bantamweight and featherweight divisions for women fighters.
