As we get closer and closer to UFC 212, the narrative tied to Vitor Belfort, and what this Saturday’s bout means has changed dramatically.
A few weeks ago, it sounded like Belfort’s run with the UFC would come to an end on June 3rd, after he battles Nate Marquardt. Initially, the understanding was that Belfort was going to retire after UFC 212. Then, “The Phenom” started talking about competing outside of the UFC, after the event. This week, however, Belfort’s reported that he feels reinvigorated as a result of his training camp at Tristar, and that he could return to the UFC after all…
The latest Embedded for UFC 212 provides an example of this, as Belfort says “something stirred” in him this camp, and that he sees a new beginning.
