“Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery” Earns 308K Viewers on Showtime, “UFC’s Ultimate Fights” Draws 894K on Spike

Strikeforce Heavy ArtillerySaturday’s “Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery” event, headlined by the successful return of heavyweight champ Alistair Overeem vs. Brett Rogers, drew 308,000 viewers on premium cable network Showtime, a 40-percent drop from January’s “Strikeforce: Miami” and nearly 10-percent of December’s “Strikeforce: Evolution”.

“UFC’s Ultimate Fights,” the UFC’s counter-programming on Spike TV which featured many of the promotion’s top bouts from 2010 including UFC 111’s Shane Carwin vs. Frank Mir and WEC 48’s Leonard Garcia vs. Chan Sung Jung, drew 894,000 viewers.
