UFC FN 110: Mark Hunt Stops Game Derrick Lewis, Who Says Fighting Career is Likely Done

Mark Hunt ended a two fight winless streak tonight at UFC Fight Night 110, by stopping a game Derrick Lewis in round four.

From the opening horn, it was clear that both heavyweights respected the fearsome power each man possesses. Hunt, however, pressed forward throughout the bout while Lewis looked to counterstrike. At one point, Hunt landed a hard elbow to Lewis that appeared to stun the surging heavyweight, but he was able to recover.

As the fight wore on, Hunt started landing more legkicks, and it looked like Lewis was favoring his lead leg. In round four, Hunt began to pepper Lewis with punches, and the bout was stopped as the latter covered up along the cage.

After the bout, Lewis said that his leg was okay, and that his back was giving him difficulties. The contender proceeded to say that he’s been having back issues over the last couple of years, and that in addition, this bout was likely his last, since Lewis does not want to “put” his family “through this” any longer.

In the co-main event, Derek Brunson decked Dan Kelly early on with a straight left, and the fight was called as he followed up with punches from above.
